Post by ghostI'm thnking I need to bring my web page into a home server to
save money, monthly web space fees suck and it's only 5 bucks a mo. for
a static IP so I can run a mail server out of the home as well.. yay.
And maybe perhaps a g-e replacement should we never hear from a. again.
ghost
well as i said, i heard from him and he's where he is until the end of
the summer 'cos 'she's on a project'...
then they may take a tour south and west. i was jokingly warned to be
careful who i invite to visit, that he might show up [quote: 'ask
goobs and james'.] i have a feeling a. might give l.a. a try. [light
bulb above ol' goat hed flicks on: imagine a movie written by a.]
he was o.d.'ing on too much ip traffic and not enough writing time. If
u haven't been reading his blog, go do so. only three posts but
already quite worth it. he writes his life like a movie script.
droplets of blood and wonder. i think he edits the boring parts and
just gives us the good stuff-- which is as it should be... now if he
could give us a plot, he'd be ahead of 99.9999 percent of new
hollywood scripts.
His writing 'unplugged' is doing him wonders. this man is crazy enough
to be a bohemian writer and to be a good one.
unlike me. i have intentionally made my life a boring place. There are
no "little brown bombs" her. if there had been i'd been i'd be a
different person and there would be a whole lot more trouble in my
life than buying a house and sending step-d. off to college.
who knows? maybe i need some time unplugged too...
as for the house... well, i came home last night with badly swollen
knees from doing the things i was doing [fitting sub-floor planks into
place then driving 3" deck screws into them, scraping up old tile
which had been glued with what appears to be roofing tar, cutting
rotted drywall from above the basebore where the sick cabinet
mounts... some how this don't seem to be very CP]... but we'll have a
good floor under the kitchen sink. it will need it, as the new sink is
60 or so pounds of cast iron. the new sink and cabinets would have
fallen through the floor if we had left things alone.
i can see that its going to take a bit of doing to get it where i want
it to be. I'm going to need to add a second breaker panel upstairs to
get power and air conditioning-- a requirement here. if and when the
new dvusMedia center goes on-line, it is going to be interesting.
well i just got a call telling me i need to go back to work on the
floor. i am beginning to think this house has already got me where it
wants me... i'd better go buy knee pads.
the ded goat.
o/~ "this is the way we screw the floor,
screw the floor,
screw the floor..." o/~
-- you heard me: screw the floor.
